Corrossive Service PSV
R014 Series Safety Relief Valves – Special Corrosive Service
REGPORT offers a specially designed valve with PTFE seating, ideal for corrosive media such as acidic or basic vapors, where metallic nozzles and disks are not preferred due to compatibility issues or cost concerns. In this specific design, the nozzle is made of PTFE, and the disk is constructed from GFT. This combination provides excellent seating and ensures near-zero leakage through the valve when closed. Additionally, the valve body and bonnet are coated with PTFE/Halar from the inside to ensure corrosion resistance when the safety relief valve is activated. A special arrangement is provided to hold the PTFE nozzle securely. The internals, including the disk holder, stem, and guide, are made from AISI 316L to enhance corrosion resistance.
These valves are commonly installed on GLR, HCL, chlorine, or other highly corrosive fluid lines, especially in pharmaceutical or chemical plants. They offer a cost-effective solution compared to the combination of a PTFE rupture disc with an SS safety relief valve.
