Self Actuated Pressure Control Valves

Self Actuated Pressure Control Valves (SAPCV) are custom-designed to meet the specific needs of customers across various industrial sectors. These valves have a significant advantage over conventional control valves as they do not require any auxiliary inputs such as pneumatic lines, electricity, or hydraulic lines. SAPCVs operate based on signals received directly from the line fluid itself.

Typically, a control valve consists of three main components: a sensor, a controller, and the final controlling device. In the case of SAPCVs, all these functions are integrated into a single piece of equipment, making it a self-contained unit for precise pressure control.

SAPCVs utilize feedback from the regulated pressure, either from upstream or downstream, as an input signal to the control mechanism. This mechanism can be either diaphragm or piston actuated by a spring. Based on this feedback, the SAPCV effectively controls the process.

Pilot Operated PCV

The fundamental operating principle for PO-SAPCV relies solely on force balance. Designed for high-flow scenarios, this system ensures fine and precise pressure control. Essentially, the pilot valve operates as a direct-acting SAPCV. The fluid from both the pilot and the main line exerts pressure on either side of the main valve actuator diaphragm. This mechanism provides the most accurate detection of deviations in the controlled parameter, thereby delivering optimal performance in pressure control.
